Proto-visions

Divination, Synchronicity, Chance, and Friendship

By Blueberry Morningsnow & Aleta Lanier

Poetry

Aleta Lanier and Blueberry Morningsnow’s collaboration utilizes chance and synchronicity.

The following poems and images are from a collaborative project called “Proto-visions,” which Blueberry Morningsnow and Aleta Lanier began in 2012 and ended on the eclipse of August 21, 2017. The result of the project is seventy-seven poem-images, all involving the processes of divination, synchronicity, chance, and life-long friendship. The Proto-visions below were made in the summer of 2016. Blue and Aleta each sent their half on the same day to each other: Blue a poem, and Aleta a title and a drawing.

Hell humming

First sound=time proto-vision: hold this fucking thing (the others nod respectfully)
Emotion of basic units hold into a collected curve for the time being
Hello all, today you design waterfall masks
Seeds as furless as bodies in birth of a moment
Sun accordion; infinite climax (that’s one exuberant crystal!)
Applying face lotion awkwardly, your voice grows dense and silvery
Green dark leaves: one hundred ways eyes move to the swim-sung lungs
I heard and dreamed with bears the worm-books
Being time for a while while wildly holding the everybody thread

Mirror to the Flower Brain

Space vision:

Again beloved pulsing person circles lines
Time passing ceases waves scatters sinks
Neat light walking through wind-&-water bodies
Jailed sunflowers steam and swell—melt the story, sting each letter
Tree throat spirit cups halt goats, get lost
Certain a dog-hearted meadow changes each question
And loosens how to be, because gigantic clean beautiful green
Why a house-core needs a little boat
To transcend space and hang up rays of everything

Enthusiasm Vision:

Degrees of sky in lost hats
—Spent numb hours in pent up moon truth!
—spiral vise of a topic that is itself a line of tubes!
The certain returning boat under the river
—Waits, waits with your brain and soul
—like a porpoise in line for hours!
Hours in lines in hair and air and pent up years
Past structures bound to citrus fruit and blackbirds.
Chime of the fearless! Person’s phone number! The city I maybe made.
Inconceivable opposite moment; thatched throat, brambly, of levers
—levers to poems and half-words flecked with being (fruits!)
—from prison to the zero of the concave
discussing unconditional love in the gasses of the sun
(ask us about the friendship boats)
If this were the sky, we’d lose each other

                                                                                   (ok but what else?)

What Have You Done?

Babble wall proto vision:::
The seed beat womb in time’s root system of space-sense
Almost body messy in itself, ear-husband cancer-reef
Wife of ripples/ frozen poem mustered into love-ball
Flutter flower built connected in life-skin
Insectlike sun-house hands the new body feed-cloud
A stay day in all the open is birth’s end near dream-zag-zig
Time edits water book, shifts babble spells in touch-forest
In a grow-slip, music branch tells answers, plays with walls
Dust boat mined for touch permission thinks of itself as a time-breast
